40 weeks!
Well we hit July 7th, the magical date on the calendar. Here is our due date picture. As we have said all day (with a smile as much as possible) apparently no one told peanut today is his due date. God knows when his birthday is and we will know soon enough. He has had the entire pregnancy in his hands and has planned for peanut's birthday so we are resting in that and enjoying coming up with ways to pass the time. Chris even found a game to learn Spanish so we are playing that. Our favorite phrase so far is "el gato come pan (the cat eats bread?)." Really...no cat I have ever met eats bread but oh well.

38 week pictures and Nursery
We are 2/two/TWO???? days from our due date which is crazy. Where did time go? I am not thinking Peanut will be here before or even on his due date but that is ok. Starting Monday I will begin the anything to induce labor naturally routine. Walking as much as I can, squats, etc etc (suggestions are welcome). These are a little behind but these are the latest pictures of prego belly and Peanut's room. We have some things that need to go on the wall but we are ready.

SR Max and Safgard shower...38 weeks!
I can't believe we are 38 weeks tomorrow. Peanut is about the size of a leak...hmm I wonder who comes up with these things, he is bigger than a leak in my mind. Time is flying by right now as we prepare for E's arrival any day now. Today was spent running errands and packing (finally) our hospital bag. This past week my awesome coworkers gave us a shower. We had a great time and were thoroughly blessed. This afternoon after running all over town I read all our cards. E you are so loved and prayed for sweet boy. We can't wait to meet you and for you to meet all these people who love you.

Happy Fathers Day!
Chris and I are so blessed to have so many awesome dads in our lives. My dad, Craig, Chris' dad, Will, my grandfathers, Jack Wuerth and Howard Rice, and Chris' grandfather, Charles Huff and my brother, Peter. We have been blessed bu these men and the legacy they given us in Chris and the influence they have been on Chris as a father to be.
Peanut wanted to make sure daddy got to celebrate Father's day this year. So he insisted we go shopping for daddy. We got him a cup that says #1 dad and a book on 1001 things about being a dad. E also wrote daddy a card with help from mommy. He is excited for all the cool things daddy is going to teach him and for loving mommy so well during the pregnancy. I'm grateful for Chris and the leader he is in our family, the way he loves us both and the reflection he is of Christ. Chris is an amazing man and seeks to follow Christ and lead our family towards him in everything. I can't wait to see him develop as a father in the next few days and weeks before E arrives and as we navigate being first time parents.

Frogs (snipes or snakes), Snails and Puppy Dog Tails.
This past weekend, Hannah, Jessica and Mandy threw us a shower. Hannah and Jessica are two of the ladies in our small group, dear friends and already moms so teaching me all the ropes. Mandy is my best friend from college and flew from Detroit for a weekend of fun. Mandy came in Friday evening and we had a great time catching up past my early normal bedtime.
Saturday we spent hanging out and some serious rain. I took Mandy back to Feeney's after introducing here three years ago the first time she came. It was so good just to chat and encourage each other. I wish she lived closer. I am pretty sure Peanut will invite aunt Amanda back in the fall and entice her to come for some snuggle time and to meet him.
Sunday afternoon was the shower and it was a great time with friends. I apparently missed part of US culture because I had never heard the poem that says: What are little boys made of? Snipes (or snakes or frogs) and snails and puppy dog tails. Well I learned this weekend! All three hosts are super creative and went all out with this theme.
We had a great time playing baby categories with Peanut's initials. EWJ is a little harder than we thought. We changed the rules a little to make it easier. We were very blessed bu friends during the shower.
And of course we can't have a weekly post without a shot of 36 weeks. We can't believe we are now about 3 weeks from our due date. We are excited and nervous, somewhat ready and enjoying all the sweet couple time we can. This weekend, we are celebrating Chris' first father's day. More to come on the next post!

35 weeks and a Sunday School Shower
Today we are 35 weeks and my fabulous team for 4th grade Sunday School surprised me with a shower. We are so blessed to have a supportive church and this team is awesome. They have served faithfully and have been such a blessing to me this year. I ca't wait for them to meet peanut.
Thank you so much to Kelley and the fabulous 4th and 5th grade teams that blessed us today. We are so grateful and can't wait for you to me peanut.

33 weeks, stitches, 34 weeks and the beach
I am a little behind on posting so I am combining weeks and lots of pictures. We are now 35 weeks and can't wait to meet our sweet little boy in 5 +/- weeks. I' have had moments of shock and I can't believe is so close but we are super excited.
Our excitement for week 33 was our little trip to Urgent Care on Thursday morning. I was peeling a mango with our sharp new peeler and decided to take a portion of my finger with it when my hand slipped. I think there was a moment of comic relief, when I stood outside our room with my hand over my head asking Chris to come help me. We decided, with recommendation from our midwife, to get a tetanus shot and see if I needed stitches. I really didn't think I would need them but the doctor felt differently so I got stitches.

For Memorial day, we went on our last pre-baby vacation to the beach. It was fun to relax on the beach, go for walks, read and take naps. The weather was awesome for being outside and not to hot and humid. Chris, Ben (brother) and Will (dad) spent a lot of time on the beach fishing. I have a feeling fishing is going to be a must for peanut. I can see Chris with peanut in a carrier fishing in a couple month and all three teaching him how to fish next summer. Uncle Ben, daddy and grandpa can't wait to teach him all the tricks of fishing. I don't have any pictures from the beach but I do have 34 week pictures.
